Armed with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a BSc Agriculture in animal physiology and genetics, Jeanne ultimately grew her small experiment into one of the South African poultry industry’s greatest success stories, while making a powerful contribution in the drive towards making authentic free range widely available to the consumer market.
Linka started her career in the Technical Department at Elgin Free Range Chickens before moving on to General Management. Driven by a mission for EFRC to remain the leading free range chicken producer in South Africa, Linka is best known for inspiring employees to be innovative in everything they do. Linka holds a MSC in Food Science from Stellenbosch University.
Robyn was the founder and managing director of Samair, an air-conditioning distribution company in the Western Cape and a partner and director in several other national air-conditioning companies. After selling her interests in 2012 after 20 years in the industry and having developed a keen interest in corporate law; governance; ethical business practices; and business development - Robyn became a partner in a governance company. At the end of 2015 Robyn completed her EMBA (cum laude) UCT (GSB) with a focus on strategic management, critical thinking, and leadership development and is currently doing additional courses in leadership and executive coaching at UCT.
D.O. "Taffy" Roberts comes with over 40 years varied experience, including FMCG food manufacturing and distribution industries. He has served as Marketing Manager, Marketing Director and Chief Executive Officer levels and has benefitted many other companies through his strategic management and Human Resource consultancy work. Taffy currently serves as the Lead Independent Non Executive Director of Cape Pine Investment Holdings.
Deon joined EFRC as Financial Director in April 2020. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a B-Acc degree at Stellenbosch University and a Hons B-Compt degree at Unisa. After completing 6 years at the auditing firm Theron van der Poel (now PWC) he has worked in the FMCG industry for the past 31 years, first as Financial Manager at Tiger Brands (10 years) and then in Financial Management and Commercial project roles at RCL Foods (21 years).
Cató Rabie has worked in the poultry industry for seven years, gaining experience on all technical matters surrounding poultry production. She heads up the technical department that consists of Agriculture, Food Safety, Quality Management, New Product Development and Occupational Health and Safety. Cató holds a MSc in Food Science from Stellenbosch university.
Wynand has 20 years’ experience in FMCG industry and has obtained qualifications from various institutions. Most notably he has received training through the Costa Group (AUS) - International Standards of Supply Chain Management, in the last 10 years he served as group executive for a major retailer group. Wynand and his team embrace the challenges and work together in overcoming these on a daily basis.
Jaco Coetzee joined EFRC as Head of Sales and marketing in August 2019. He has extensive experience in FMCG sales and numerous trade related certificates. His career started at Shoprite Checkers, where he quickly became the youngest Branch Manager in the history of the company. He diversified his field of expertise in 2016, by joining the Massmart Builder's Warehouse team. Throughout his 15 year career in FMCG, he has acquired an impressive reputation for being an inspirational team leader and for constantly exceeding financial profitability expectations. His easy demeanour and approachability makes him an excellent communicator and effective negotiator.
Martin has 20 years operational experience in the FMCG industry. As Head of Production & Maintenance he ensures preventative maintenance practices and projects are managed and completed effectively. In addition to his primary job functions Martin has been recognized for his commitment to creating team cohesion, mentoring and collaboration with his team.
Michelle is the Head of Purchasing at Elgin Free Range Chickens. She started her career as the Supply Chain Manager at Kauai. She holds a PhD in Food Science at Stellenbosch University and Post-doc in Molecular Microbiology at Stellenbosch University. Michelle joined the team at EFRC in November 2017 and became head of department just 4 months later.
Lauren joined EFRC as Financial Manager in June 2012 and was appointed as the Financial Director in March 2018. Lauren completed her BCompt Degree and post graduate studies in Advanced Management Accounting, Auditing and Taxation through Unisa, and her Training Contract with PricewaterhouseCoopers Stellenbosch. She brings with her a wealth of financial management experience gained across diverse industry sectors.
Donovan joined EFRC as General Manager – Factory Stores in April 2020. He has a BCom Marketing Business Management Degree and International Hotel Management Diploma. He has recently spent four years heading up his previous companies group sales on the FMCG, and retail side of the business nationally in South Africa, as well as across all of Africa. He was promoted to their youngest senior manager (Exco) in the 31 year history of the company. He is recognised for inspiring and uplifting colleagues to be better. He is passionate about sales, and his resilience and perseverance through anything adds to his drive to get the job done.
