Elgin Free Range Chickens decided that this year, the carers and team of the ThembaCare Grabouw Clinic must be spoiled and pampered – to show our appreciation for all the hard work they are doing in and around our community. On Tuesday 14 February – Valentine’s Days, EFRC’s Factory Manager (Martin Minnie), Packing Line Manager (Richard September) and HR Officer (Priscient Moyo) visited ThembaCare, and spoiled the ladies of ThembaCare with EFRC homemade chocolate hearts and beautiful flowers.

Jeanne’s Elgin Free Range Chickens
Green Renaissance spent two days with Jeanne Groenewald on her Elgin farm, to capture her special relationships with the birds, and learn more about her free-range philosophy. On the farm, chickens are more than just products, they’re given space to roam freely, and have access to healthcare from avian veterinarians and eat only non-chemically enhanced food.

IBL – BLUE STATUS
Last month, on 12 and 13 October, we had our unannounced IBL-Woolworths Hygiene/PPC Audit. This being an unannounced audit we only get 48 hours notice before the auditor knocks on our door with a laptop, notebook, pen (factory and metal detector friendly) and torch (for early morning – 04h30 – factory inspection).
